Wagyu Beef Shepherd's Pie

How about a comforting and flavorful Wagyu Beef Shepherd's Pie? This recipe combines rich Wagyu beef with creamy mashed potatoes and savory vegetables for a hearty and satisfying meal.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. Wagyu ground beef
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups mixed frozen vegetables (such as peas, carrots, and corn)
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh thyme
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 3 cups mashed potatoes
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.

  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the Wagyu ground beef until fully cooked. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

  3. In the same skillet, add the diced onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.

  4. Add the mixed vegetables to the skillet and sauté until they are heated through, about 5-7 minutes.

  5. Stir in the tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, and all-purpose flour, and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.

  6. Gradually whisk in the beef broth until the mixture is smooth. Bring to a simmer and cook until the sauce thickens, about 5-7 minutes.

  7. Stir in the cooked Wagyu ground beef and chopped thyme. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  8. Spread the mashed potatoes over the top of the Wagyu beef mixture, and sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese.

  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  10. Let the Shepherd's Pie cool for a few minutes before serving.
